Infrastructure development for Classrooms/library and laboratory – 2500 sq ft
Story so far: Since inception in 2016, we started operating from a dilapidated house in the Village Khiri of Kotulpur block in Bankura district of West Bengal. On 27 January 2019 we shifted to our newly constructed 2500 sqft study cum medical hall on a piece of land formally donated by the villagers of Khiri.
Within this short span, the number of students has grown substantially. In these villages, the availability and quality of Education are insufficient to date. More than 80% of our students hail from SC, ST, OBC & other minority communities. Currently, 110 students attend free coaching classes daily at base center at Khiri and the demand is growing.
Currently, the hall is converted into classrooms using movable partitions. Classes for primary school children are conducted in the veranda for want of space. Having to accommodate such a large number of students in a limited space creates a noisy environment during coaching. This distracts the young students. Further, due to increasing demand, the number of students is anticipated to increase by about 20% to 30% over next 2-3 years. We therefore need to develop the infrastructure to accommodate the growing numbers.
For this purpose, we plan to construct five (5) classrooms, a library cum reading hall, a computer lab and a laboratory with one wash room each for boys & girls on the first floor of our existing hall, covering a total area of 2500 sq. ft., by December 2021. The total cost at the current rate of Rs. 1200/ sq ft is estimated to be thirty lacs (30 Lacs) with approximate break up as follows:
